UP: 22 per cent votes polled for 27 seats till 10 am
Around 22.02 per cent out of 1,20,657 votes were polled for the 27 seats of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council in the first two hours of polling till 10 am, here on Saturday.
Lucknow: Around 22.02 per cent out of 1,20,657 votes were polled for the 27 seats of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council in the first two hours of polling till 10 am, here on Saturday. According to Joint Chief Electoral Officer (JCEO) maximum 32 per cent votes were polled in Moradabad district, whereas Pratapgarh saw the lowest 9.6 per cent turnout. Among other districts 15 per cent votes were polled in Bareilly, 16.5 per cent in Shahjahanpur, 24 per cent in Sitapur, 25.86 per cent in Lucknow, 21 per cent in Rae Bareli, 14.66 per cent in Sultanpur, 17.39 per cent in Barabanki, 18 per cent in Bahraich, 20.53 per cent in Gonda, 11.47 per cent in Ayodhya, 32 per cent in Basti and 22 per cent in Gorakhpur. Similarly, 14.42 per cent votes were polled in Deoria, 13.5 per cent in Azamgarh, 14.56 per cent in Ballia, 27.27 per cent in Ghazipur, 11.27 per cent in Jaunpur, 19.78 per cent in Varanasi, 20.59 per cent in Prayagraj, 16.67 per cent in Jhansi, 22 per cent in Fatehpur, 27 per cent in Farrukhabad, 28.68 per cent in Agra, 20.56 per cent in Meerut and 24.28 per cent in Saharanpur district. Earlier in the day Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath exercised his franchise at a polling booth in Gorakhpur. The JCEO said that polling has continued peacefully and no untoward incident has been reported so far.
