Water Released from Telangana’s Nagarjuna Sagar Project
Water has been released from the Nagarjuna Sagar Project in Telangana.
Hyderabad: Water has been released from the Nagarjuna Sagar Project in Telangana.
Due to heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of the Krishna River, 26 gates of the project were opened, releasing water.
The water level in the reservoir was recorded at 586 feet, slightly below its full capacity of 590 feet. A water inflow of 2,32,528 cusecs was recorded, after which more than 2,38,000 cusecs of water were released.
The release of water has attracted a large number of tourists to the vicinity of the Nagarjuna Sagar Project. To prevent any untoward incidents, police have been deployed in the area.
