YS Sharmila to take charge as APCC president on January 21

Y S Sharmila will take charge as Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president on January 21 here in Vijayawada.

Vijayawada: Y S Sharmila will take charge as Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president on January 21 here.

In a statement here on Thursday, the Congress party said that YS Sharmila was appointed APCC president by the Congress party high command.

She would take charge as APCC president on January 21 in a programme. Congress party AP affairs in-charge Manickam Tagore, AICC Secretaries CD Mayappa, Christopher Thilak will attend as chief guests to the programme.

A host of senior Congress leaders including former Union Ministers, former MPs and MLAs would attend the programme.

It may be mentioned here that YS Sharmila is the younger sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Her entry into AP politics through the Congress party gives a new twist as she is to face her Chief Minister brother Jagan Mohan Reddy in the next elections.
