Hyderabad: Telangana Animal Husbandry Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, officially inaugurated a dignified 2BHK housing colony consisting of 1700 two-bedroom homes in Bahadurpally, Quthbullapur, Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Yadav emphasized that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has launched this housing scheme to provide the underprivileged with dignified living conditions.

Out of the 1700 houses distributed on this occasion, 144 beneficiaries are from Gajularamaram, 356 from Bahadurpally, 500 each from Sanathnagar and Kukatpally, and 200 from the Secunderabad Cantonment area.

The allocation of houses has been carried out with complete transparency, solely through a random draw process, without any political influence or financial contribution from the beneficiaries.

Each house, valued at approximately Rs. 50-60 lakhs, is provided to the less fortunate citizens free of cost by the government. Minister Yadav also noted that the cost of an acre of land, where the housing colonies are being established, ranges from Rs. 8-10 crores.

He assured those who did not secure allotments in the initial phase not to worry, as all eligible applicants will eventually receive homes in a phased manner. Minister Yadav dismissed opposition claims of improper allotments, stressing that this process has been conducted with unprecedented transparency.

He further informed that in the first phase, 11,700 houses are being distributed, and the government plans to construct one lakh houses in the outskirts of GHMC limits. Out of these, around 69,500 houses have already been completed and will be distributed in phases.

The Minister also highlighted several welfare programs initiated by the government for the benefit of the less fortunate, including Kalyana Laxmi, Shadi Mubarak, KCR KIT, and pensions for senior citizens and disabled individuals.

MLAs Vivekanand Goud of Quthbullapur and Krishna Rao of Kukatpally also addressed the gathering.

The allotment process was overseen by the District Collector, Anudeep Durisetty, using the NIC system. The event was attended by Commissioner of GHMC, Ronald Ross, Additional Collector Abhishek, Chief Engineer Suresh, and other dignitaries.
