In Patna, Bihar, people rushed out of their homes as the ground shook. “I was watching TV when I felt dizzy. I then saw the news about the earthquake and immediately evacuated my home,” shared Tushar, a resident of Noida. Similar accounts came from other parts of North India, with many emphasizing the strength and duration of the tremors.

Seismologists and experts have been monitoring the situation closely. Ajay Paul, a renowned seismologist, pointed out that the earthquake’s epicenter was in a region of Nepal close to the site of previous quakes. He identified this region as the central belt of Nepal, known for its “active energy releasing sectors.” Paul also advised residents to remain alert and be prepared for potential aftershocks.

In Nepal, the earthquake’s aftermath was more direct and devastating. Reports emerged of injuries, with visuals showing ambulances rushing to aid the affected. Videos from Jajarkot, the earthquake’s epicenter, depicted scenes of panic and urgency as people sought medical attention for the injured. Additionally, there were instances of property damage, with images revealing cracked walls resulting from the quake’s impact.
