Accused Details
The arrested persons have been identified as:
- Goundla Shirisha (25) – Pharm D student from Vikarabad
- Edulapally Sai Kumar Goud (30) – Businessman from Vikarabad
Both were allegedly involved in planned hospital robberies across Hyderabad.
Modus Operandi: Drugging Patients in Hospitals
The accused used a disturbing method to commit the crimes:
- Shirisha posed as a medical professional wearing a doctor’s apron
- She entered hospitals and targeted elderly female patients
- Administered Diazepam injection, a sedative drug
- Victims were made unconscious
- Gold ornaments were stolen and the accused fled
On March 11, 2026, she reportedly carried out a robbery at a hospital in Secunderabad using this method.
Multiple Cases Detected
Police have linked the accused to multiple robbery cases, including:
- Case registered at Market Police Station, Malkajgiri
- Case registered at Chandanagar Police Station
A similar offence was committed earlier at a hospital in Nallagandla.
Seized Property
During the operation, police recovered:
- Gold ornaments weighing about 11 tolas
- Two mobile phones
- One Maruti Suzuki Baleno car
The stolen items were reportedly used for personal expenses by the accused.
Arrest and Police Operation
The accused were apprehended by the Secunderabad Zone Task Force team along with Market Police after tracking their movements.
Officials stated that the accused had been absconding since committing the offences and were finally caught based on credible information.
