Telangana Became Guiding Force for Nation on Caste Census, Says CM Revanth Reddy After Supreme Court Support

A. Revanth Reddy stated that Telangana has become a guiding force and direction for the country on the issue of including caste census in the national population census.

The Chief Minister said the Supreme Court’s approval of including caste census in the census process was a positive development. He demanded that the Central government immediately include caste census in the upcoming national census.
Revanth Reddy recalled that the Telangana government had already conducted a caste census in the state.
Telangana Conducted Social, Economic and Educational Caste Survey
The Chief Minister stated that the Telangana government conducted a comprehensive caste survey covering:
- Social aspects
- Economic conditions
- Education
- Employment
- Political representation
He said the government placed the complete details before the public.
According to Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government removed the feeling of insecurity prevailing among weaker sections through the caste survey exercise.
Revanth Reddy Says Supreme Court Support Is Honour for Telangana
The Chief Minister said:
“Now the Supreme Court has also approved caste census. It is a good development. We consider the Supreme Court supporting Telangana’s decision as an honour for Telangana.”
He further stated that the government was proud to have shown a permanent solution to a problem that had existed for 100 years.
Telangana Demands Immediate Inclusion of Caste Census
Revanth Reddy urged the Central government to immediately include caste census in the national census following the Supreme Court’s support.
He reiterated that Telangana had already taken the lead by conducting caste enumeration and presenting detailed findings publicly.
