Telangana Tourism Gets Digital Booster as Jupally Krishna Rao Launches New Tourism Promotion Drive
Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao launched a digital tourism promotion drive and urged influencers to create awareness against drugs, betting, and online gaming.

Jupally Krishna Rao said the tourism sector is not limited to leisure travel alone but is a powerful tool for the state’s economic growth, employment generation for youth, and strengthening Telangana’s brand image.

The minister urged influencers and digital creators to showcase Telangana’s natural beauty, historical grandeur, and cultural heritage to the world through digital platforms.
He made these remarks while participating as the chief guest at the “Telangana Tourism Creators Meeting” organised at Begumpet Tourism Plaza during Tourism Week celebrations.
Telangana Government Speeds Up 99-Day Action Plan
Jupally Krishna Rao said the Telangana government has accelerated its 99-day action plan under the “Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika” initiative to provide a fresh boost to the tourism sector.
The minister said suggestions and recommendations from influencers who attended the meeting from various districts across Telangana would be accepted to improve the tourism sector further.
He also directed influencers to work towards creating social awareness among people, especially youth, along with tourism promotion.
Tourism Will Generate Employment and Revenue
The minister stated that promoting tourist destinations would create large-scale employment and livelihood opportunities for local youth.
He said revenue generated through tourism would be used for:
- Strengthening healthcare and education sectors
- Developing infrastructure at tourist destinations
Jupally Krishna Rao said:
“If we do not visit our own regions, life is not complete.”
He added that financial limitations should not become a barrier to visiting tourist places in Telangana and advised people to reduce unnecessary expenses and spend time with family at tourist destinations for mental peace and happiness.
Government Focuses on Cleanliness and Tourist Infrastructure
The minister said the government is taking steps to encourage not only domestic and international tourists but also Telangana residents to visit tourist destinations across the state.
He stated that focus has been placed on:
- Cleanliness at tourist locations
- Minimum facilities
- Modern tent accommodation facilities
The minister also revealed that unused Haritha hotels and tourism lands are being converted into revenue-generating assets.
Influencers Asked to Create Awareness Against Drugs and Betting
Jupally Krishna Rao said social media influencers should not restrict themselves only to tourism promotion and must act with social responsibility.
He expressed concern that youth are becoming addicted to:
- Ganja
- Drugs
- Other intoxicating substances
- Betting
- Online games
The minister said these addictions are destroying lives and causing mental health issues among youth, affecting their bright future.
He appealed to influencers to use their content to create social awareness and help eliminate social and mental problems.
‘Prabhata Bheri’ Social Awareness Programme Soon
The minister announced that the government will soon launch a new social awareness programme called “Prabhata Bheri.”
Under the programme, awareness campaigns will be conducted through:
- Short films
- Skits
- Stage performances
- Various art forms
Government to Give Awards to Best Tourism Creators
Jupally Krishna Rao urged creators to become partners in promoting Telangana culture, heritage, and hospitality globally.
He assured that the government would support content creators contributing to tourism development and called for collective efforts to place Telangana at the top of the global tourism map.
The minister also announced awards and special incentives for tourism creators showing outstanding talent.
New Meta Account and Instagram Handle Launched
During the event, the minister launched the new Meta account and official Instagram handle of the Telangana Tourism Department.
A special video titled “Timeless Telangana” showcasing Telangana’s historical monuments, heritage wealth, handicrafts, handlooms, and Kalamkari art was also screened.
