Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu said the state is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to become a role model in digital transformation during the Digital Transformation Finance Summit 2026 in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said the Telangana Government is working in a planned manner to make the state a role model for digital transformation in India.

As part of this vision, the government is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to make citizen services more efficient, transparent, and easily accessible at people’s doorsteps.

The minister was speaking as the Chief Guest at the “Digital Transformation Finance Summit 2026” organised by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on Friday.

Sridhar Babu Says Digital Transformation Is Reshaping Governance and Finance

Addressing the summit, D. Sridhar Babu said the global economy is rapidly moving toward digital transformation at an unprecedented pace.

He stated that traditional systems are being replaced by new digital equations that are redefining governance, business, and finance.

The minister emphasized that only nations and regions adapting to technological changes will lead the future.

India Emerging as One of the World’s Largest Digital Economies

Minister D. Sridhar Babu said India has emerged as one of the world’s largest digital economies.

He stated that from digital payments to digital public infrastructure, India’s transformation is being closely watched globally.

According to him, Telangana has become a major growth engine in India’s digital progress.

Telangana Building Ecosystem for Innovation, Talent and Economic Growth

The minister said Telangana is building a strong ecosystem connecting next-generation innovation, talent, and economic growth to meet future demands.

He added that the state is moving with the vision of increasing its contribution to the country’s GDP to 10 percent by 2047.

Chartered Accountants Must Focus on Cyber Assurance

Highlighting the changing role of Chartered Accountants, Minister D. Sridhar Babu said CAs, who were once largely confined to bookkeeping and auditing, have now evolved into strategic business advisors for corporate organisations.

He observed that emerging technologies such as:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Analytics
  • Cyber Security

are creating tremendous opportunities in the finance sector.

At the same time, he said these technologies are also leading to challenges such as:

  • Cyber frauds
  • Deepfakes
  • Cyber arrests
  • Crypto-related scams

In this context, the minister stressed that Chartered Accountants should not limit themselves only to financial auditing but should also focus on Cyber Assurance and digital risk management.

Minister Urges Professionals to Upskill and Reskill

Minister D. Sridhar Babu urged professionals to focus on:

  • Skilling
  • Upskilling
  • Reskilling

to adapt to changing technological trends.

He also invited industry experts to collaborate with the Telangana Government in its digital transformation journey.
