Telangana Govt Focuses on Additional Revenue Sources, Bhatti Vikramarka Orders Crackdown on Leakages

Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka chaired the Resource Mobilization Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting in Hyderabad and directed officials to focus on additional revenue sources and prevent leakages.

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu directed officials of all departments to focus on increasing additional revenue sources in line with budget requirements for the current financial year and to accelerate Telangana’s economic growth.

A high-level meeting of the “Resource Mobilization Cabinet Sub-Committee” was held on Friday at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat under the chairmanship of Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.

The meeting was attended by Uttam Kumar Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu, who are members of the committee.

Telangana Government Reviews Revenue Mobilization Targets

During the meeting, ministers and officials conducted a detailed review of additional revenue-generation avenues and the progress of various departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said revenue mobilization must align with the proposed budget estimates for the 2026–27 financial year.

He instructed officials to completely curb leakages and fully utilize all available revenue streams to achieve budget targets.

The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that all departments should function according to predetermined timelines and calendar schedules to improve revenue generation.

Friday Review Meetings Mandatory for Senior Officials

Considering the importance of weekly Friday review meetings, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu directed all senior officials to attend without fail.

Officials who are unable to attend physically due to unavoidable reasons were instructed to participate through video conference.

Uttam Kumar Reddy Calls for Action Against Illegal Activities

Uttam Kumar Reddy directed officials to take strict action against illegal activities causing losses to the state exchequer.

Officials informed the ministers that, as per earlier Cabinet decisions, revised and enhanced land market values, also referred to as registration prices, would come into effect across Telangana from May 28.

According to officials, the revised registration prices are expected to significantly increase revenue for the Registration Department.

HILT Policy Guidelines Finalized

Officials also informed the committee that the “HILT Policy Guidelines” related to the Industries Department have been finalized and corresponding government orders will be issued shortly.

Key Departments Review Revenue Performance

The ministers reviewed present revenue performance and future revenue targets of major departments, including:

  • Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD)
  • Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA)
  • Industries Department
  • Registrations Department
  • Mining Department
  • Revenue Department
  • Transport Department

Directions were issued to officials during the review meeting.
