Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Launches Satavahana University Engineering College Brochure, Announces 300 Seats at Husnabad Campus
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar launched the Satavahana University Engineering College brochure and SUCE code poster, announcing 300 seats, 36 acres of land, and Rs. 44.12 crore for infrastructure in Husnabad.

Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar released the brochure of Satavahana University Engineering College along with the college code “SUCE” poster during a program organized at the Hyderabad Secretariat.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister congratulated students and parents who appeared for the Telangana EAMCET examination on behalf of Satavahana University Engineering College.
Revanth Reddy Government Sanctioned College for Rural Students
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the Praja Palana government under the leadership of A. Revanth Reddy sanctioned Satavahana University Engineering College in Husnabad with the objective of providing higher technical education to students from rural areas.
He said that there are currently 22 government engineering colleges and 157 private engineering colleges in the state.
According to the minister:
- Government engineering colleges have 8,532 seats
- Private engineering colleges have 1,18,542 seats
Minister Urges Students to Select “SUCE” Option
Ponnam Prabhakar revealed that the code of Satavahana University Engineering College is “SUCE” and appealed to students who wrote EAMCET to select the college as an option during admissions.
He said that all infrastructure facilities matching private colleges have been arranged at the institution.
The minister stated that the process for construction of permanent buildings has already started and clarified that there is no need for misconceptions regarding facilities in the first academic year.
Classes Being Conducted in Polytechnic College With Hostel Facilities
The minister said that classes are currently being conducted in a well-equipped Polytechnic College.
He stated that separate hostel facilities have been arranged for boys and girls and measures have been taken to avoid transportation problems for students.
According to the minister, the college being located in Husnabad town itself would be highly beneficial for students.
300 Seats Available in First Academic Year
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar announced that a total of 300 seats are available in the first academic year, including:
- Computer Science Engineering (CSE) – 60 seats
- Artificial Intelligence – 60 seats
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) – 60 seats
- Information Technology – 60 seats
- Biotechnology – 60 seats
Digital Library, Labs and Modern Facilities Planned
The minister stated that the college would provide:
- Merit-based education
- Digital library
- Digital classrooms
- Computer labs
- Science labs
- Modern accommodation facilities
- Workshops
- Drawing halls
He further said that the government allocated 36 acres of land for Satavahana University Engineering College in Husnabad and sanctioned Rs. 44.12 crore for construction of buildings and hostels.
Construction works are expected to begin soon.
Experienced Faculty and Career Guidance for Students
Ponnam Prabhakar stated that experienced faculty members, dedicated computer and related laboratories, placements, and career guidance opportunities would provide a strong foundation for students’ future careers.
He said students from poor and rural backgrounds would now have an opportunity to pursue BTech education near their region without traveling to distant places, calling it a milestone for the development of North Telangana.
The minister also announced that bicycles, books, and calculators would be distributed to students.
Awareness Programs, Sports and Cultural Activities Planned
The minister stated that separate hostel facilities are being provided for boys and girls.
He announced that the college would conduct:
- Student induction programs
- Patent and research awareness programs
- Faculty development programs
- International conferences
- Expert lectures
- Sports activities
- Cultural programs
Admissions Open for 2026-27 Academic Year
Ponnam Prabhakar said admissions are continuing for the 2026-27 academic year and urged rural students of Telangana to utilize the golden opportunity to pursue quality engineering education.
He stated that Husnabad, located between:
- Karimnagar
- Jangaon
- Siddipet
- Hanumakonda
is being developed as an educational center.
Hospital, Medical College and Temple Development Works Underway
The minister said construction of a 250-bed hospital is underway in Husnabad and that a PG Medical College has already been sanctioned.
He further stated that works related to the Urban Forest Park are progressing rapidly.
Development works are also continuing at:
- Ellamma Temple
- Kothakonda Veerabhadraswamy Temple
- Potlapalli Rajeshwaraswamy Temple
He also mentioned beautification works of local lakes are underway.
