Hussain Sagar FTL: No Demolition of Poor Residents’ Homes in MS Maktha and BS Maktha, Assures HYDRAA Commissioner

Hyderabad: HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath on Friday assured residents of MS Maktha and BS Maktha, located near Hussain Sagar opposite Raj Bhavan in Khairatabad, that HYDRAA will not demolish houses belonging to poor people. He urged residents not to believe misinformation claiming that homes falling within the Hussain Sagar Full Tank Level (FTL) limits would be removed and warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading false information and provoking protests.

HYDRAA Commissioner Visits MS Maktha and BS Maktha

HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath visited MS Maktha and BS Maktha on Friday and interacted directly with local residents to clarify concerns regarding the alleged demolition of houses within the Hussain Sagar FTL limits.

He said he personally visited the areas to remove confusion and reassure the residents.

No Plan to Demolish Houses of Poor People

The Commissioner clearly stated that the State Government and HYDRAA have no intention of demolishing the houses of poor people.

He said residents living in houses that existed before the formation of HYDRAA should not worry.

According to the Commissioner, rumours claiming that HYDRAA had issued notices to houses within the Hussain Sagar FTL limits are false and should not be believed.

Commissioner Warns Against False Propaganda

A.V. Ranganath alleged that some encroachers are using innocent people for their own selfish interests and advised residents not to trust such individuals.

He also warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading false propaganda about HYDRAA notices and those who allegedly used innocent people to stage a protest near the MMTS Station on Necklace Road.

Previous Examples Cited by HYDRAA

The Commissioner referred to the restoration of Bathukamma Kunta Lake in Amberpet, stating that the lake was developed without disturbing the houses of poor residents.

He said that even though some houses were located within the Bathukamma Kunta FTL limits, existing occupied houses were exempted.

He also cited the case of Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu, where poor families living in huts were relocated, and recommendations were made to provide them double-bedroom houses.

Residents Express Relief

After the detailed explanation by the HYDRAA Commissioner, local residents expressed relief.

They welcomed the Commissioner’s direct visit and said they were happy that HYDRAA had clearly stated that it would not target the houses of poor people, preventing unnecessary confusion.
