The weather department said heavy rain is likely in north Telangana districts on Monday and Tuesday. In view of the forecast, the state government has alerted officials in the affected districts and directed them to take precautionary measures to prevent inconvenience to the public.
Authorities have also advised people to avoid standing near large hoardings and trees during periods of strong winds and thunderstorms. People have been urged to step out of their homes only when necessary.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for several districts, including Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Hanamkonda, Warangal, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Nagarkurnool and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri.
These areas are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of around 40 kmph, according to the forecast.
Heavy rainfall is particularly likely in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Karimnagar and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts. Residents in these areas have been advised to remain alert and follow safety precautions.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad has witnessed cloudy weather over the past two days, with intermittent and continuous rainfall reported in several parts of the city.
Officials have been instructed to closely monitor the weather situation and take necessary measures to deal with any weather-related emergencies.
