Mathura: A 10-member team of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) was denied entry into the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Idgah complex in Mathura on Wednesday, May 11.
Muslim Rashtriya Manch is a body affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Its activists had reportedly gone to the complex to analyze the historic importance of the site but were prevented from entering the complex by the security personnel stationed at the site.
As reported by India Today, Tushar Kant, leader of MRM team, told that they saw Krishna Janmabhoomi from a distance and expressed the desire to find out about the history of the Idgah, but the security personnel stopped them. They had gone to Mathura on the directions of the Manch’s chief Indresh Kumar.
Rehana Khatun, a member of the MRM team, claimed that the disputed site is the birthplace of Lord Krishna and the foreign invaders demolished the temple to build an Idgah. She appealed to all Muslims on behalf of the Manch to preserve the peace and tranquility in the country. She asserted that Muslims are Indian first.
