Another blow to BRS: Deputy Mayor of Khammam Municipality Division Fatima Zahra Joins Congress
Over the past 20 days in Khammam, Telangana, leaders of the BRS party and corporators of the Khammam Municipal Corporation have been consistently leaving the BRS party to join the Congress party.
Today, in Khammam city, Corporator and Deputy Mayor of Khammam Municipality Division 37, Ms. Fatima Zahra, along with her husband Mukhtar Sheikh, dealt a significant blow to the BRS party by joining the Congress Party.
Former state minister T Nageshwar Rao, a Congress candidate from the Khammam constituency, warmly welcomed them to the party. He, being the minority leader and director of Khammam, emphasized the dissatisfaction with the ruling BRS party, accusing them of mistreating representatives.
In a press conference, T Nageshwar Rao criticized Chief Minister KCR, State Minister KTR, and State Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar, asserting that after the Congress government’s arrival in Telangana, justice would be swiftly served, and cases against the people’s representatives would be addressed within three days.
This announcement was made as a response to the perceived oppression by Ajay Kumar, declared as an “alarm bell for democracy.”
The press conference was attended by Congress leaders, workers, and a substantial number of people, including corporators like Muhammad Mustafa.
