APCR Files PIL in Telangana HC to Halt Release of Controversial Movie ‘Razakar’

APCR files PIL in Telangana HC to halt "Razakar" movie release worldwide on March 15, 2024.

Hyderabad: The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) has taken a significant legal step by filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) before the Hon’ble High Court of Telangana to prevent the worldwide release of the movie “Razakar (The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad)” on March 15, 2024.

The decision to file the PIL stems from mounting concerns over the potentially provocative and divisive nature of the movie, which has sparked fears of fueling communal discord between two communities.

Mr. Nadeem Khan, Secretary of APCR, has led this initiative following a unanimous resolution passed by the organization’s National Executive Committee.

This move underscores the APCR’s steadfast dedication to upholding civil liberties and fostering communal harmony.

The PIL, filed under filling No. WP(PIL)/8230/2024 on 02/03/2024, is set for its initial hearing and admission on Monday, 11/03/2024.

Advocate Afsar Jahan, Vice President of APCR’s Telangana Chapter, will advocate for the organization’s interests in the high court.
