Battered Hyderabad road claims life of Class 3 student of DPS

Hyderabad: On a seemingly ordinary morning in Hyderabad, the bustling city was suddenly gripped with grief and sorrow as a young life was tragically cut short. Dikshitha, an enthusiastic and bright 8-year-old girl, was getting ready for another day of learning at school.

Little did anyone know that this day would turn into a nightmare. As she embarked on her journey to school, accompanied by her father, Kishore, little Dikshitha’s life took an abrupt and devastating turn.

The duo set out on a modest motorbike, navigating the familiar roads of Bachupally, where they resided. However, fate had other plans. The road that lay before them was not the safe and smooth path it once was. Instead, it bore the marks of neglect, with potholes and deep crevices spreading across its surface.

As they approached Dr Reddy’s, tragedy struck. Kishore, attempting to maneuver his bike around a particularly treacherous stretch of the road, lost control due to the numerous potholes that marred its surface. In an instant, Dikshitha tumbled off the vehicle, her father’s desperate attempts to prevent the calamity were in vain.

Their misfortune did not end there. A school van, traveling closely behind them, was unable to react in time to the unexpected events unfolding before it. The van collided with the bike, and the unimaginable happened – it ran over the fallen Dikshitha, sealing her fate in the cruelest of ways.

The scene that followed was one of heartbreak and chaos. Dikshitha’s young life was extinguished within seconds, leaving her father gravely injured and emotionally shattered. The driver of the school van, Shaik Raheem, was held accountable for his negligent driving, causing irreparable damage to a once-happy family and the community as a whole.

The authorities quickly arrived at the scene, investigating the tragedy. Bachupally Station House Officer, N Suman Kumar, disclosed that Shaik Raheem, the van driver, tested negative for drunk driving, ruling out alcohol as a contributing factor to the accident.

Further inquiries exposed the harsh reality of the road’s condition. The entire stretch leading to the incident site was significantly damaged, rendering it hazardous for commuters. Recent rains had exacerbated the situation, making it even more treacherous for motorists and pedestrians alike.

Dikshitha’s family, residing at Indraprastha apartments in Bachupally, was left to grapple with an unimaginable loss. The young girl was a student of Delhi Public School in Bowrampet.
