Bidhuri gets reward for Muslim hate from BJP; Opposition lambasts

The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Ramesh Bidhuri, the South Delhi MP, as the in-charge for Tonk district in Rajasthan ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. This decision follows Bidhuri’s recent controversial remarks towards BSP MP Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha.

In response to the appointment, Ali stated, “This reveals the true face and character of the BJP. If they believe they can gain majority support by promoting such individuals, they are mistaken.”

Bidhuri’s appointment holds significance due to Tonk being considered the area of influence for Congress leader Sachin Pilot. The district has a notable presence of Gujjars and Muslims, both communities to which both Pilot and Bidhuri belong.

Opposition figures have criticized Bidhuri’s appointment. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra remarked that he has been “rewarded” for his previous comments. Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal also pointed out that the BJP seems to be rewarding “hate” for political gain.
