Hyderabad: Telangana BJP protested the decision to give the option of writing government exams in Urdu language. They staged protest at the district collectorate in Hyderabad.
#BJP protested at the district collectorate in #Hyderabad in opposition to the Telangana government’s decision to allow candidates applying for Group I examinations in Urdu.
Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar also slammed the government and said that the decision was taken to woo minority communities. He went on to say that once BJP comes to power, they’ll dismiss those who got jobs through Urdu and notify again.
Recently, the Telangana government allowed candidates appearing for Group 1 examinations of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) to answer in Urdu besides English and Telugu.
The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) defended the move saying Urdu is an official language, just like Telugu and English.
Taking to twitter, Minister KTR writes, “Urdu just like Telugu is an official language recognised by the constitution of India Govt of India and many states also conduct recruitment exams in Urdu including UPSC So what’s the problem? Please don’t be influenced by propaganda of bigots.”
