Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao on Sunday demanded the Telangana government to announce the date for the merger of TSRTC with the state administration.
In an open letter addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Rao said considering the security and economic conditions of the employees of TSRTC, the previous BRS government had introduced a Bill in the Legislative Assembly to merge TSRTC with the state government. However, due to the enforcement of the Model code of conduct, it was not possible to specify the appointed day, he explained.
Rao urged the new government to expedite the process and announce the implementation date of the bill, emphasizing that there has been no indication from the new government even after two and a half months.
Harish Rao mentioned that TSRTC employees are anticipating the issuance of a government order in this regard, especially during the announcement of free travel for women in TSRTC buses under the Mahalakshmi Scheme.
