Fake passports case: Three more arrested by CID in Telangana
The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials have arrested three more persons in connection with the fake passports case, a police release said here on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials have arrested three more persons in connection with the fake passports case, a police release said here on Thursday.
In last month, the CID had arrested 11 accused involved in preparing fake documentation for passport and visa processes to assist foreign nationals and criminals.
In addition to the arrest of 11 accused in the case earlier, the CID arrested three more including Pranab, Postal Assistant who works in Adilabad Passport Seva Kendra, Laxman, ASI, SB, Nizamabad and an agent who has been apprehended in Mumbai were arrested during further investigation, State CID Additional Director General Ms Shikha Goel said in a release.
The investigation is still in progress for collecting evidence of the fraud and apprehension of other connected accused.
It has been revealed that, so far 95 Passports have been issued to illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka. It has been informed to the Passports & Immigration authorities for taking necessary action at their end.
The investigation is carried out by Special Teams of CID, the release added.
