In a recent incident, instead of resorting to tantrums or sulking like most kids, an eight-year-old decided to take a different approach to a disagreement with her father. The young girl created a handwritten poster and placed it outside their home, advertising her father for sale at a price of ₹2,00,000.
@Malavtweets shared a photo of this poster on Monday, humorously commenting, “A minor disagreement and 8-year-old decided to put up a Father For Sale notice out of our apartment door. Methinks I am not valued enough.”
The post garnered various reactions from users. One remarked, “That’s actually a pretty high value. I don’t think mine would have gone that high,” while another joked, “Heyy 2 lakhs is great.. I’m sure my daughters would sell me for 20 bucks!!’.
One user praised the child’s handwriting, remarking, “Without getting into the merits of putting you up for sale, I must say I am pleased to see a display of cursive writing amongst the young. What was once a routine thing is now a dying art.”
However, there were those who found the incident unsettling. One user expressed concern, asking, “How can a kid even imagine ‘selling off’ anyone, let alone a parent, unless the kid has encountered such statements before? I fail to see any cuteness here.”
A similar incident gained attention the previous week when Joel Berry, an author and managing editor of The Babylon Bee, shared a ‘threatening’ handwritten letter from his own eight-year-old child. The letter, with its childlike handwriting and misspelled words, urged him to let the kids watch Iron Man that night or face dire consequences. It was signed “FROM: Govormet”.
