Hyderabad: The funeral prayer of Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, the managing editor of the Siasat Daily, will be offered at Shahi Masjid Bagh Aammah (Public Garden Nampally) tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8, following Fajr prayer.
His burial will take place at his ancestral graveyard, Aakhirat Manzil, Dar-us-Salaam Road, Nampally.
Zaheeruddin Ali Khan passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest during the funeral procession of the balladeer Gaddar in Alwal on the evening of Monday, August 7. He was rushed to the hospital where he later passed away. He was 63 years old.
According to reports, he began feeling unwell during Gaddar’s final rites. He was rushed to Russh Super Specialty Hospital, Suchitra Circle, Kompally, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Family sources disclosed that Gaddar and Zaheeruddin Ali Khan shared a close friendship. His sad demise not only sent shockwaves among the journalism fraternity but also resonated throughout various sectors of society.
His brother Dr. Mazharuddin Ali Khan also passed away in February this year.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan was widely recognized across India for his contributions to social services. He conducted numerous surveys aimed at promoting the economic and educational development of minorities, and he organized various national and international exhibitions to foster calligraphy. He took proactive measures to assist victims of riots and natural disasters.
He was also blessed with the opportunity to perform Ghusl-e-Kaaba.
Mr Zaheeruddin Ali Khan is survived by wife, and two sons Asghar Ali Khan and Fakhar Ali Khan.
