Ganesh Immersion in Hussain Sagar; HC will Decide on Sept 6

The High Court has took up the hearing on the petition filed by the Lawyer Venu Madhav seeking a ban on immersion of Ganesh Idols in Hussain Sagar.

Hyderabad: The High Court of Telangana will be giving the appropriate direction on the immersion of Ganesh Idols in Hussain Sagar on September 6.

The High Court has took up the hearing on the petition filed by the Lawyer Venu Madhav seeking a ban on immersion of Ganesh Idols in Hussain Sagar. He stated that immersion of idols in mass is causing pollution in the Hussain Sagar and the spread of Coronavirus.

The Government and the Ganesh Utsav Samithi have asked the petitioner to give the detailed report on causes of pollution and spread of coronavirus due to immersion.

The High Court said that the current Covid situation and pollution should be taken into consideration in addition to the sentiment of the people. The Court expressed its view that it would be better to immerse the idols locally wherever possible.

However, the Court said it would look at every suggestion and issue and appropriate direction will be given on September 6. (Munsif News Bureau)
