Gender Champions Club inaugurated at MANUU
The club plans to organize seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate on issues related to gender equality, women's empowerment, and rights.
Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has inaugurated Gender Champions Club this week in a significant step towards promoting gender equality and inclusivity as per UGC Guidelines with the aim to create a safe and supportive environment for MANUU community irrespective of gender.
Prof. Shugufta Shaheen, OSD1 while addressing the inaugural ceremony expressed her support for the initiative. During expert talk, Prof. Gulfishaan Habeeb stated that Gender Champions Club embodies our commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for everyone.
We believe that by creating a community of advocates, we can collectively address and eradicate gender-based discrimination, she added. Prof. Syed Aleem Ashraf, Dean, Student’s Welfare and Prof. Mohd Abdul Sami Siddiqui, Joint Dean was also present.
The club plans to organize seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate on issues related to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and rights.
It will serve as a platform for students and faculty to work towards breaking down gender-related barriers that may exist in academic and social settings.
Ms. Saba Khatoon, Nodal Officer convened the programme. Students – Faheem, Fariha Jaffery and Md. Zaid were felicitated as gender champions on the occasion.
