Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has informed that the State government has strongly desired to bridge the gaps between the castes by establishing all the Gurukuls in one campus in each constituency of Telangana State.
“As part of its endeavour, the foundation stone for the institution was already laid in Kodangal Assembly constituency as a pilot project and these kinds of institutions will come up across the State in the days to come,” Revanth Reddy said.
Speaking at a programme after inaugurating Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan at Banjara Hills here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that earlier, the residential schools were established for SC, ST, BC and Minority communities separately, but his government had decided to set up all the Gurukuls at one place.
“Education is not an expensive commodity. Instead, it is an investment. Education will only provide opportunity to ascent many heights to everyone. RS Praveen Kumar and Akunuri Murali got recognition and respect only through the education,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister also recalled the services of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram for the development of the country and said that Jagjivan Ram had pursued his political career in the Congress party and supported the Gandhi family.
“The State government has taken Jagjivan Ram as inspiration and is making efforts to the upliftment of the poor and marginalised communities,” Revanth Reddy disclosed.
He further stated that the State government directed the officials to allot Indiramma houses for Dalits, Tribals, BC and Minorities at one place.
Jagjivan Ram’s daughter Meira Kumar (as Speaker) passed the Telangana Bill in the Lok Sabha. Entire Telangana community will remember Meira Kumar, he reminded.
Indirectly criticising the behavior of BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister said, ” Time is always not the same. Sometimes feudals (Doras) dominate and it is in the hands of Dalits sometimes. Now, Dalit leader Gaddam Prasad has been elected as the Assembly Speaker and the feudal party should respect the Chair,”.
“Some are questioning the contribution of the Congress party to the Society. It is the Congress party which gave the right and authority to question,” Revanth Reddy disclosed.
