Ahmedabad: A Gujarati man became crorepati all of a sudden when his bank account was credited with over Rs 11 crore on July 26, 2022. However, his joy was short-lived as the bank withdrew the amount after eight hours.
During that period, the man made his investments, netting a profit of Rs five lakh.
Ramesh Sagar a resident of Ahmedabad is the holder of a Kotak Securities demat account. On July 26, 2022 he received Rs 116,77,24,43,277.10 crore in his account.
He immediately invested Rs two crore in the stock market and booked profit of Rs five lakh. The same evening, eight hours after the amount was credited, the bank withdrew the amount sending a notification, “There is an issue with margin update in the app. you can continue to place orders, but the margin shown will not be updated. We regret the inconvenience and are working on resolving this at the earliest.” Economic Times reported.
Ramesh was not the only account holder who hit an unannounced jackpot that day, as the glitch seemed to have happened to multiple account holders.
