During the ceremony, Reddy emphasised the importance of protecting inscriptions, highlighting their significance in understanding history, traditions, and cultural practices. He stressed the need to safeguard these inscriptions from historical destruction, particularly by past invaders.
Reddy underlined the role of inscriptions as vital historical records, offering insights into administrative methods, welfare activities, religious practices, social systems, and economic conditions of different eras.
He called for the utilization of modern technologies, such as software and digitization, to decode and preserve these inscriptions for current and future generations.
The Epigraphy Museum aims to conduct research on historical inscriptions and present the findings through books and digital media.
Reddy expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for establishing the museum and thanked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing it in the budget.
Reddy revealed the efforts made to bring the museum to Hyderabad, highlighting its significance for the city and the region. He expressed confidence in the success of the project with the support of the community and outlined plans to digitize ancient inscriptions rapidly, aiming to create the world’s premier Epigraphies Museum.
