Hyderabad on Orange Alert for Heavy Rain; Residents Urged to Stay Indoors


Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in Hyderabad. All areas, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally, are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

It’s advised that residents avoid unnecessary outdoor activities for the next few hours. The rainfall is expected to persist until tomorrow. Additionally, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecasted for Telangana until September 7, with some areas already experiencing significant rainfall.

Hyderabad: GHMC has urged residents to stay indoors. It tweeted “Heavy rain alert for Hyderabad. Please don’t step out of your home unless it’s very essential for the next couple of hours. Citizens may dial 040-21111111 or 9000113667 for GHMC-DRF assistance. “
