Hyderabad Police arrest four with 31.34 kgs of Ganja
The city Police have apprehended four individuals and confiscated 31.34 kgs of Ganja from their possession, along with one car and four mobile phones.
Hyderabad: The city Police have apprehended four individuals and confiscated 31.34 kgs of Ganja from their possession, along with one car and four mobile phones.
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone team, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Kanchanbagh Police Station, intercepted a Car at Shalibanda X Road under the jurisdiction of Kanchanbagh Police Station.
The suspects, Shaik Abdul Faisal, Mohammed Sami Uddin, Mohd Amer, and Tabassum, were apprehended while in possession of the contraband—Ganja on Monday, according to a police statement released on Tuesday.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Shaik Abdul Faisal and Mohd Sami had become close friends in Mailardevpally in 2020, with Mohd Amer being a childhood friend of Shaik Abdul Faisal. The absconding accused Rithesh, residing in Odisha State, is identified as the Ganja supplier.
Shaik Abdul Faisal and Mohd Sami, after inquiring about Ganja collection, devised a plan to procure a large quantity of Ganja from Araku to Hyderabad on New Year’s 2024 for illegal profit.
Subsequently, Mohd Sami contacted the absconding Rithesh and confirmed the Ganja supply. Shaik Abdul Faisal and Mohd Sami then contacted another two accused promising them Rs. 10,000 each for bringing the Ganja from Araku.
Shaik Abdul Faisal acquired the Blue Baleno with Registration No. TS 08 GN 6166 from a friend. On December 29, 2023, they went to Odisha State, where Shaik Abdul Faisal purchased 15 packets of Ganja, each weighing about 2 kgs, from Rithesh for Rs. 56,000. All the four accused concealed the Ganja in their car.
On January 1, at 1240 hours, while passing Pisalband ‘X’ road, Kanchanbagh, in the Blue Baleno car with Registration No. TS08GN6166 along with the Ganja, were apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team, and Kanchanbagh Police.
The main supplier of Ganja, Rithesh R/o Koraput District, Odisha State, is still absconding.
