Indiramma Towers: Telangana to Offer Affordable Homes in Hyderabad with ₹5 Lakh Subsidy, 50% Reservation for Weaker Sections

Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that Indiramma Towers will provide affordable homes in Hyderabad with a ₹5 lakh subsidy, ₹6 lakh beneficiary contribution, 50% reservation for weaker sections, and online applications through MeeSeva.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government is implementing the Indiramma Towers housing programme to provide affordable, quality homes to poor, lower middle-class, and middle-class families who do not own a house in Hyderabad. Revenue, Housing, Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said beneficiaries will receive a ₹5 lakh government subsidy, while their contribution will be limited to ₹6 lakh. The government will also provide 50% reservation in house allotments for weaker sections in the first phase, with applications accepted through MeeSeva centres, MeeSeva WhatsApp, and the MeeSeva website.

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy Reviews Indiramma Towers Project

On Thursday, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy held a review meeting with officials at his office in the Telangana Secretariat to discuss:

  • Construction of Indiramma houses
  • Application process
  • Implementation of the housing scheme

The Minister said the government aims to provide dignified and affordable housing to poor and lower middle-class families without their own homes in Hyderabad.

Houses to Be Built Near Beneficiaries’ Existing Localities

The Minister said the government has taken each Assembly constituency as a unit for constructing Indiramma houses, ensuring that beneficiaries receive homes close to the areas where they currently live.

He added that valuable government land in Hyderabad will be used for public welfare to provide permanent housing security to eligible families.

According to the Minister, Indiramma Towers will offer quality homes at affordable prices to middle-class and lower middle-class families who do not own a house in the city.

He also clarified that all houses will be constructed strictly according to the guidelines announced by the government.

₹5 Lakh Subsidy, Beneficiary Share Limited to ₹6 Lakh

To reduce the financial burden on beneficiaries, the Telangana Government will provide a ₹5 lakh subsidy.

The Minister said the beneficiary’s contribution will be only ₹6 lakh in all locations.

He further stated that during the first phase, flats will be constructed in 16 selected Assembly constituencies.

According to the Minister:

  • The market value of the flats will range from ₹40 lakh to ₹60 lakh.
  • The SRO (Basic) value will range from ₹14.6 lakh to ₹28.4 lakh.

He explained that by combining the value of the land, construction cost, and the government subsidy, eligible families would receive homes at a significantly lower cost.

50% Reservation for Weaker Sections

The Minister announced that ownership rights for houses being built in the Core Urban Region (CUR) during the first phase will include 50% reservation for weaker sections.

The reservation breakup is as follows:

  • Scheduled Castes (SCs): 14%
  • Scheduled Tribes (STs): 5%
  • Backward Classes (BCs): 16%
  • Persons with Disabilities: 5%
  • Government outsourcing employees, Class-IV employees, and sanitation workers: 10%

He further announced that 30% of the houses within these reserved categories will be allotted to women.

The remaining 50% of the houses will be allotted under the General Category.
