Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said in the Assembly that the irrigation sector has been severely affected due to the mistakes committed by the previous BRS government.
Participating in a discussion on irrigation in the house, Reddy acknowledged the opposition’s concerns and highlighted the formation of a committee by the K Chandrashekar Rao headed BRS government with retired engineers to examine Godavari projects.
He stated that the committee’s report, presented in the assembly, underlined the redesigning of the project at a location other than Tummidihatti.
Expressing dissatisfaction, the Chief Minister accused the previous government of neglecting the state and demanded the BRS leaders to apologize to the public for their errors, emphasizing that acceptance of mistakes would have prevented disgrace in Telangana society.
He asked the opposition leaders, why they were counterattacking in the Assembly without acknowledging their mistakes. Reddy urged the BRS leaders to admit their mistakes even now.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the previous BRS government failed to draw the state’s share in Krishna waters, resulting in Andhra Pradesh receiving 512 TMCs and Telangana only getting 299 TMCs.
He said that Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, and Khammam districts would face severe water crisis due to KCR’s policies.
