Hyderabad: BRS party MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha today lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for wasting public money for the Congress party’s programmes. She threatened to raise protest if Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi was invited to government functions in Telangana.

“In what capacity will Priyanka Gandhi be invited for official functions,” she asked and demanded to know whether the Congress was spending on the camp politics of Jharkhand State MLAs or whether it was spending government funds? Stating that there was a lack of social outlook in Revanth Reddy’s regime, she demanded that the process of conducting caste enumeration should be initiated immediately to provide 42 per cent reservation to BCs in local bodies.

She asked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who used to cry against KCR’s family in the wee hours of the morning, as to how the Congress party gave tickets to leaders belonging to 22 political families in the State.

Speaking to media persons at her residence here today, Kavitha said it was not right for the Congress leaders to criticise her and against her organisation Bharata Jagriti. She demanded that people should be told as to why government funds were being used for the party’s meeting. She asked Revanth as to why he went in a government helicopter and participated in his party meeting in Adilabad district on Friday. She said the Congress party should tell whether the party had paid money to the government for using the public facilities.

“It is a good thing that the Congress party is still aware of their mistakes and apologises to the family members of the martyrs of Indravelli,” she said, adding that CM Revanth Reddy apologise to the family members of those who were martyred in the separate Telangana movement. She made it clear that the Congress party should start any programme by apologising to the martyrs.

She said that it was not a waste of public money that those who have won with the votes of the people of Telangana and became ministers were putting up escorts for Jharkhand state MLAs and holding camps in the resort. Stating that they don’t have to topple the Congress government, she said that it was the congress party’s leaders who will topple it.

She said the mistakes of the Congress government would bear fruit in 100 days, just as Shishupala’s 100 sins have been fulfilled. “We will definitely stand in the public domain. But as an opposition party, it is our responsibility to tell the people how the decisions taken by the government in the last 60 days have been.

It seems that Revanth Reddy is being called a U-turn chief minister for the people of Telangana and not a single promise made has been fulfilled. Revanth Reddy had said that he would meet people every day with praja darbar, but he met people only for one day,” she said. She explained that the minister was made to sit for a day to weaken the praja darbar and added that the officials were made to sit down. (NSS)
