Hyderabad: BRS party MLC K. Kavitha today demanded that the State government allocate Rs.20,000 crore for the BC welfare department.
She wrote an open letter to Deputy Chief Minister-cum- Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on the issue and urged him to allocate Rs 20,000 crore for the upcoming 2024-25 financial year.
In her letter, she recalled that the Congress party had included a promise in its election manifesto that Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’s BC sub-plan would be legalised.
She also mentioned that the Congress party had promised to allocate Rs 1 lakh crore besides setting up a separate ministry for the welfare of MBCs after coming into power. She said the Congress party had promised to build BC unity buildings at a cost of Rs 50 crore in all district headquarters.
She said by allocating these funds, the promise made by the Congress would be fulfilled and added that these funds would help the BCs to develop further. She said the government should work for the uplift of the BCs and implement all the promises made to the BCs for the same. (NSS)
