Due to heavy rain and adverse weather conditions prevailing in the region, the government has declared multiple holidays for schools and colleges. The series of events and announcements made by the Telangana Government concerning educational institution holidays.

This decision comes after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for several districts in the state, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of the citizens.

Telangana Government’s First Announcement: July 20 and 21

The first declaration of holidays came for Thursday, July 20, and Friday, July 21. Honourable Education Minister, Sabitha Indra Reddy, announced these two days of holiday for all educational institutions. The news spread rapidly across the state through social media platforms, with the Education Minister confirming the decision via her official Twitter account.

Extending the Holidays: July 26 and 27

As the rain showed no signs of abating, the Telangana Government extended its concern towards the well-being of students in Hyderabad and the surrounding areas. Thus, a two-day holiday on July 26 and 27 was announced for all schools in these regions. The decision was taken to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure that students and staff stayed safe and protected from the impact of heavy rains and adverse weather.

Telangana Government’s Latest Announcement: July 28

With the weather still unyielding, the Telangana Government made another crucial announcement. Schools across the region would remain closed on Friday, July 28, for the third consecutive day. The Honourable CM, K Chandrashekhar Rao himself, made this announcement, expressing his sincere concerns for the safety and well-being of the students. This marked the sixth day of holidays declared by the government so far, impacting schools and colleges across Telangana.
