Kishan Reddy urges Telangana CM for additional land allocation at Cherlapally & Moulali Railway Stations
Reddy also highlighted the Railway Department's deposit of Rs 4 crore for the water supply connection to Cherlapally Terminal, urging its swift establishment.
Hyderabad: Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy has appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to allocate additional land for Cherlapally and Moulali Railway stations to enhance facilities.
In a letter addressed to the Telangana Chief Minister, Reddy highlighted the strain on the three main railway stations in Hyderabad – Kachiguda, Secunderabad, and Hyderabad (Nampally) – due to the growing population and increased passenger traffic. To alleviate this, Indian Railways plans to develop a new terminal at Cherlapally Railway Station within the city limits by March 2024.
As part of the development initiatives, Reddy emphasized the need to widen approach roads, develop a 200 feet wide road from FCI godown road to the new station building, widen the road from Bharat Nagar side to Charlapalli Station, and improve the road from EC Nagar to the MMTS platform. Additionally, he proposed allocating 3 acres for the new Cherlapally station building and 2.7 acres for the MMTS platform for parking and other purposes.
Reddy also highlighted the Railway Department’s deposit of Rs 4 crore for the water supply connection to Cherlapally Terminal, urging its swift establishment. He further addressed the need for widening the road from Alpha Hotel to Retifile Bus Stand for convenient passenger movement.
Regarding Moulali Yard station, Reddy raised concerns about sewage affecting railway tracks and emphasized the necessity of expanding the drainage system from 2 meters to 4.8 meters within the municipal area.
Despite previous letters on the matter, Reddy expressed disappointment at the lack of expected cooperation from the state government. He urged the Chief Minister to take immediate steps and provide necessary assistance for the development of the crucial railway stations in the city.
