Khammam: In a strange incident, an unidentified man sought lift from a motorbike rider and poisoned him by administering injection.
According to sources, the farmer, Shaikh Jamal (55) of Bopparam village in Chintakani mandal became a victim of poisoning by the pillion rider, in Mudigonda Mandal in Khammam district on Monday.
Shaikh Jamal was riding towards Gandrai village in Andhra Pradesh on his motorbike. He was paying a visit to his daughter. When he reached Vallabhi village in Mudigonda mandal a stranger requested him for a lift on his bike. The man was wearing a monkey cap. Jamal offered him lift.
On their way to Gandrai, the lift seeker administered a poisonous injection into one of the thighs of Shaikh Jamal and jumped off the vehicle and ran away.
Shaikh Jamal stopped the bike, called his relatives and narrated them the incident. After which he fell unconscious as the poison took over his body.
Spotting him lying by the side of the road, the locals rushed him to Vallabhi Primary Health Centre. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.
On receipt of information, Mudigonda police visited the spot and launched an investigation. On the spot, they found the syringe which the killer might have used to inject poison into the bike rider’s body.
