In a bizarre incident that occurred in Uttar Pradesh, a man resorted to cutting off his wife’s nose and making a hasty escape with the severed organ tucked away in his pocket.
According to media reports, the incident took place in Banstali village of Lakhimpur Kheri. Vikram, a resident of the village, flew into a rage during an argument with his wife, Seema Devi, and proceeded to sever her nose with a sharp knife before fleeing the scene. Seema Devi was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The unfortunate incident unfolded when the woman tried to protect their four-year-old daughter from her husband’s abusive behavior. In response, Vikram used the knife to inflict the horrifying act on Seema Devi. Following the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused husband.
In her written complaint to the police, Seema Devi, who resides in Banstali, recounted the events of the previous night. Around eight o’clock, she was at home with her husband and children. Their four-year-old daughter, Shobhi, was engrossed in using a mobile phone. Vikram demanded the device, and upon not receiving it, he became furious and started assaulting their daughter. When Seema attempted to intervene and protect their child, she also became a target of his aggression.
Subsequently, Vikram used a knife to sever Seema’s nose, after which he fled the scene with the detached organ concealed in his pocket. Later that night, the victim contacted emergency services through dialing 112, and she was promptly transported to Mitauli CHC for medical treatment. From there, she was transferred to the District Hospital.
The next morning, Seema, accompanied by her parents, visited the Mitauli police station and lodged a formal complaint. The Station Officer, Alok Kumar Dhiman, confirmed that the victim’s husband had been charged based on her complaint.
Seema Devi revealed that she had been married to Vikram for approximately 12 years. During this time, she alleges that Vikram engaged in an extramarital affair and subjected her to daily physical abuse as a consequence of her objections. Seema has endured numerous beatings, often while her husband was intoxicated.
Additionally, it was reported that Vikram harassed her by falsely claiming she was involved with someone else. Although their families had made several attempts to reconcile and resolve their disputes, Vikram’s behavior remained unchanged.
