Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Monday reviewed the land acquisition and rehabilitation process for the prestigious Musi Rejuvenation Project at his chamber in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat. He said the flagship project of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would become a historic initiative that will strengthen Telangana’s future development and transform the landscape of Hyderabad while balancing development with humanitarian concerns.

Minister Reviews Musi Rejuvenation Project
The review meeting focused on land acquisition, rehabilitation and other issues related to the Musi Rejuvenation Project.
The meeting was attended by:
- D.S. Lokesh Kumar, Revenue Secretary
- Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu, Inspector General of Stamps & Registration
- E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Managing Director, Musi River Front Development Project
- Sarfaraz Ahmed, HMDA Commissioner
- Collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts.
Musi Rejuvenation Project to Change Hyderabad
Addressing the meeting, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the vision of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is to rejuvenate the Musi River and transform Hyderabad into a world-class city by making the river a hub for tourism, employment and economic development.
He said the project is not merely a development programme but a commitment to provide future generations with a healthy, safe and environmentally friendly living environment.
Project Aims to Reduce Pollution and Flood Risks
The Minister said people have been suffering for several decades due to pollution in the Musi River.
He added that the project has been designed keeping in mind the hardships faced by residents living in the river’s catchment areas during floods.
According to the Minister, the government aims to transform the Musi riverfront into a vibrant public space through:
- Flood control measures
- Water purification
- Increasing green cover
- Construction of roads
- Development of parks
- Walkways
- Recreation centres
Government Committed to Development with Humanity
The Minister recalled that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had already made it clear that the Musi Rejuvenation Project is not against anyone and that the government is moving forward without causing injustice to any person.
He reiterated that every decision related to the project would be taken from a humanitarian perspective so that poor families are not adversely affected in the name of development.
Directions on Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation
The Minister instructed officials to ensure that decisions taken during the land acquisition process are people-centric and humanitarian.
He directed the officials to:
- Prepare an action plan immediately.
- Allocate double-bedroom houses to families who lose their homes.
- Implement the rehabilitation plan without delay.
He also made it clear that the government will not compromise on providing legal compensation and necessary rehabilitation to those who lose their lands under the project.
The Musi Rejuvenation Project, being implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is aimed at transforming Hyderabad, improving the environment and strengthening Telangana’s future. During the review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy directed officials to carry out land acquisition and rehabilitation in a humanitarian manner, provide double-bedroom houses to displaced families, ensure legal compensation for landowners and implement rehabilitation measures without delay.
