TG SAFE Inspects 19 Hyderabad Cafes: Two Shut, Shadab Licence Suspended

TG SAFE Hyderabad cafe inspections covered 19 outlets, with two cafes shut and Shadab Hotel’s FSSAI licence suspended over alleged violations.

The TG SAFE Hyderabad cafe inspections covered 19 cafes, hotels and snack points across Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region during a special food safety enforcement drive, leading to the closure of two establishments and suspension of the FSSAI licence of Shadab Hotel at Madina.

The inspections were conducted by nine enforcement teams comprising Food Safety Officers and police personnel.

The drive focused on alleged violations involving food hygiene, licensing, storage practices, sanitation, pest control and maintenance of mandatory records.

Dreamz Cafeteria and Asiatic Cafe Closed

Officials ordered the closure of Dreamz Cafeteria at Bagh Lingampally and Asiatic Cafe at Panjagutta.

The establishments were allegedly found operating without valid FSSAI licences or registrations during the inspections.

The action formed part of the wider enforcement exercise targeting cafes and snack outlets across different parts of Hyderabad.

Shadab Hotel FSSAI Licence Suspended

A major action was taken against Shadab Hotel at Madina, where officials suspended the establishment’s FSSAI licence.

The management was also directed to stop operations after inspectors reported multiple alleged violations related to:

  • Hygiene and sanitation
  • Food storage practices
  • Pest control
  • Maintenance of food safety standards

The suspension was among the strongest actions reported during Wednesday’s special drive.

Expired Food, Pest Infestation and Storage Issues Reported

During the inspections, officials reported several types of alleged food safety violations at establishments covered by the drive.

These included:

  • Expired or spoiled food items
  • Improper food storage
  • Open dustbins
  • Pest infestation
  • Labelling violations
  • Missing food-handler records
  • Hygiene and sanitation deficiencies

Suspected adulterated food items were also seized for analysis.

Improvement and Show-Cause Notices Planned

TG SAFE officials are issuing improvement notices and show-cause notices to several establishments where violations were reported.

Follow-up inspections are also planned to check whether establishments comply with food safety requirements and rectify deficiencies identified during the special drive.

  5. Diamond Point – Sikh Village
  6. Imroz Cafe – Ameerpet
  7. Adab – Nampally
  8. Cafe Persia – Nampally
  9. Friends Cafe – Khairatabad
  10. Golden Cafe – Khairatabad
  11. Persis Cafe – S.R. Nagar
  12. Honeymoon Cafe
  13. Deccan Cafe – Erragadda
  14. Nimrah Cafe – Ali Jah Kotla
  15. Shadab Hotel – Madina
  16. Taiba Cafe – Masab Tank
  17. Asiatic Cafe – Panjagutta

TG SAFE Steps Up Food Safety Enforcement

The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) carried out the special operation as part of food safety enforcement across Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region.

With two establishments ordered shut, Shadab Hotel’s licence suspended and notices being initiated against other outlets, the TG SAFE Hyderabad cafe inspections have placed renewed focus on licensing, hygiene, safe food storage and compliance standards at cafes and food establishments across the city.
