Muslim is one who gives no pain to anyone: cleric appeals to protest peacefully

Bareilly: A day after protests against controversial remarks on Prophet (peace be upon him) turned violent in multiple cities, including Ranchi and Howrah, All India Tanzeem Ulema-e-Islam’s national general secretary Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi on Saturday appealed to Muslims to protest within the purview of law. His appeal came amid outrage over controversial comments on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by expelled BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal.

The Muslim cleric said, “Prophet Muhammad said that a good Muslim is one who gives no pain to anyone with his hands (deeds) or tongue (words)… So I appeal to everyone to protest within the purview of law.”
