New regulations for medical insurance issued in the United Arab Emirates

The digital service will commence from Monday, February 19, 2024, as per a statement issued by Colonel Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, as reported by Emirates Today newspaper.

Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates residents will now have the convenience of uploading their medical insurance policies onto a digital platform for residency renewal and issuance.

The digital service will commence from Monday, February 19, 2024, as per a statement issued by Colonel Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, as reported by Emirates Today newspaper.

According to the statement, the new program is being introduced to facilitate non-national residents residing in the UAE.

Further elaborating, the statement mentioned that documentation for medical insurance policies will be uploaded onto the platform at the time of residency issuance and renewal. The aim is to provide immediate services to individuals and save them from visiting offices.

Colonel Al Khaili further emphasized that the new program will not only provide better health services to non-national residents and their families in the UAE but also ensure the protection of their rights.

Regarding the uploading of medical policies on the digital platform, the Director of the Citizenship and Residency Department stated that the process of uploading data issued by insurance companies onto the platform has been made extremely easy, which will provide people with convenience and save them time.
