No Rythu Bandhu benefits for hills, mounds, roads: Telangana DyCM

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday clarified that the Rythu Bandhu financial assistance scheme will not be applicable for hills, mounds, roads and other non-agricultural lands.

Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday clarified that the Rythu Bandhu financial assistance scheme will not be applicable for hills, mounds, roads and other non-agricultural lands.

Addressing media, Bhatti explained that the Congress government, which came into power three months before, extended the Rythu Bandhu scheme to farmers with 1-4 acres of land. Payments for farmers with above five acres will be processed soon, and overall, the Congress government is disbursing funds earlier compared to the previous BRS government, who had paid it in four months.

He mentioned that the Congress government is using old data for the Rythu Bandhu scheme, and the entire process is expected to be completed by the end of March.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering women by treating them as Mahalakshmi. Zero-interest loans for Self Help Groups will be launched on March 12, amounting to Rs one lakh crore over the next five years. The government also encourages women to start micro and small industries.

Bhatti highlighted that the Congress government has been prompt in salary disbursements, extending salaries to government employees on the first of each month, unlike the previous BRS government.

Additionally, he announced the launch of the Indiramma Housing Scheme on March 11, with the state government sanctioning 3500 houses for each assembly constituency.

Speaking about power consumption demand, Bhatti stated that during the Congress government, the highest peak demand of 15,623 MW was successfully met on March 8, 2024, surpassing the 15,497 MW peak demand during the BRS regime. The government is determined to meet any challenges in the power sector and is planning for peak demand during the upcoming summer season.
