Prophetic Message Guided Humanity Towards Monotheism, Justice and Moral Excellence: Maulana Sabir Pasha Qadri

Hyderabad: Maulana Mufti Dr Hafiz Mohammad Sabir Pasha Qadri, Khatib and Imam of the Telangana State Hajj House Mosque in Nampally, said that the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ brought humanity towards monotheism, truth, justice, compassion and moral excellence at a time when ignorance, injustice and social degeneration were widespread.

Addressing a gathering in Hyderabad, Maulana Sabir Pasha Qadri said the advent of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Makkah marked the beginning of a new era, with his teachings transforming not only Arabian society but also influencing the course of human civilisation.

He said the Prophetic message transcended geographical, cultural and linguistic boundaries and emerged as a universal call towards guidance, righteousness and human dignity.

Maulana Sabir Pasha Qadri noted that before the commencement of divine revelation, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had lived among the people of Makkah for 40 years and was widely known for his honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. He said the Prophet ﷺ was recognised as As-Sadiq, meaning the truthful, and Al-Amin, meaning the trustworthy.

However, he said, when the Prophet ﷺ began conveying the message of monotheism and calling people towards righteousness, many of those who had earlier acknowledged his character turned against him because his teachings challenged their established beliefs and interests.

The Prophet ﷺ, he said, continued to convey the message with wisdom, compassion and sincerity, calling people to worship one God and uphold truth, justice, equality, honesty and good conduct.

Referring to the Prophet’s address from Mount Safa, the Maulana said the people of Makkah themselves testified to his truthfulness and acknowledged that they had never known him to be a liar.

He said Hazrat Khadija al-Kubra (RA) and Hazrat Ali (RA) were among the earliest distinguished personalities to accept the Prophet’s call, demonstrating that the strength of a transformative movement depended not merely on numbers but on conviction, sincerity, sacrifice and steadfastness.

“An individual whose heart is transformed can change a family; a transformed family can influence society; and a reformed society can contribute to the transformation of the world,” he said.

Maulana Sabir Pasha Qadri said the Prophet ﷺ faced severe opposition and immense hardships while conveying the message of truth but never abandoned his mission. Through patience, perseverance, wisdom and compassion, the message of Islam spread from Makkah to Madinah and eventually reached different parts of the world.

He emphasised that the Prophet’s ﷺ message was not limited to any race, language, region or community. Described in the Qur’an as Rahmatan lil-‘Alamin, or a mercy to all the worlds, the Prophet’s ﷺ teachings carry universal relevance, he said.

The Maulana urged Muslims to reflect not merely on their numbers but on their conduct and character. He asked whether their prayers restrained them from wrongdoing, whether fasting improved their moral behaviour and whether honesty, trustworthiness and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ were reflected in their daily lives.

“If we genuinely claim to love the Prophet ﷺ, the strongest evidence of that love is to follow his teachings and embody his character,” he said.

He added that the most effective response to misconceptions about Islam was through knowledge, good character, justice, compassion, service to humanity and exemplary conduct rather than anger or confrontation.

Maulana Sabir Pasha Qadri said the Prophetic method of reform begins with the individual. Speaking the truth, helping those in need, caring for orphans and vulnerable people, educating children, honouring parents and respecting the rights of neighbours were practical expressions of the Prophetic teachings, he said.

Referring to the observance of Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, he said commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ should go beyond gatherings, speeches and devotional expressions and should inspire Muslims to bring the Prophet’s teachings and Sunnah into their everyday lives.

“The true expression of love for the Prophet ﷺ is reflected in regular prayer, truthfulness, fulfilment of trusts, service to parents, concern for neighbours, care for orphans and the needy, and a life shaped by noble character,” he said.

Concluding his address, Maulana Mufti Dr Hafiz Mohammad Sabir Pasha Qadri said that being a member of the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was not only an honour but also a profound responsibility.

He appealed to the Muslim community to make the Seerah-e-Tayyibah a practical guide in their lives and to convey the beauty of Islam through their character, actions, compassion and dealings with others.
