Revanth Reddy warned of stringent action against drug abuse in Telangana and said the government will not spare influential persons, politicians, and celebrities if they are caught in drug-related cases. The warning was issued in Hyderabad during the launch of “Spandana” Teams at the Integrated Command and Control Centre on Monday.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said, “I do not care how prominent the family is. Whether they belong to a politician or a high-ranking official, the government will not spare them.”
He further stated, “Recently, the police teams have arrested elected representatives in connection with drug-related cases. Punishing the criminals who were caught in drug cases, regardless of the stature, even if they are celebrities, will send a strong message to the people.”
The Chief Minister expressed concern over drug addicts committing atrocities against women and girls and assured strict action against such criminals.
Drug Menace and Lessons from Punjab
Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, A. Revanth Reddy pointed to Punjab as an example where drug abuse has severely impacted youth. He said the presence of marijuana being sold near schools in Punjab is a worrying factor.
He stressed that Telangana must act decisively to avoid similar consequences.
Government Measures: Eagle Force and Rehabilitation
To curb drug trafficking, the Telangana government has introduced the Eagle Force and is taking strict action against the drug menace.
The Chief Minister said there is an urgent need to address the growing issue of drugs and marijuana and emphasized increasing the number of drug rehabilitation centres.

Spandana Teams Launched for Women Safety in Hyderabad
At the Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad, A. Revanth Reddy launched the “Spandana” Teams, a dedicated police initiative aimed at protecting women and girls.

He also emphasized that students should submit a self-declaration pledging no to drugs at the time of school admissions.

The Chief Minister stated that protection of women and girl children is a top priority and claimed that Telangana has become a role model in women’s safety in the country.
He added that it is a collective social responsibility to support women during distress and provide them courage and assistance.
