Saifabad Police Bust Interstate Ganja Trafficking Racket, Seize 21.251 Kg Ganja and Arrest Two Women in Hyderabad

Saifabad Police arrested two women and seized 21.251 kg of Ganja near Lakdikapul Railway Station in Hyderabad. Crime No. 210/2026 has been registered under the NDPS Act as police investigate an interstate drug trafficking network.

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on interstate narcotics trafficking, Saifabad Police arrested two women and seized 21.251 kilograms of Ganja from their possession near Lakdikapul Railway Station in Hyderabad. The accused were allegedly transporting the contraband from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai for sale and distribution. A case has been registered under various provisions of the NDPS Act, and efforts are underway to trace other accused involved in the network.

According to police, the operation was carried out on May 29, 2026, following credible information received by Sri M. Swamy, Sub-Inspector of Police, Saifabad Police Station.

Surveillance Operation Near Lakdikapul Railway Station

After obtaining necessary permissions under the provisions of the NDPS Act, a special police team was formed. The team, along with mediators and Clues Team personnel, conducted surveillance near the Lakdikapul Railway Station parking area.

At approximately 4:25 PM, police intercepted two suspicious women carrying three luggage bags near the private travels parking area at Lakdikapul Railway Station.

Upon verification and search, officers discovered 19 packets of Ganja concealed inside the luggage bags.

Two Women Arrested in Ganja Trafficking Case

The arrested accused were identified as:

  1. Tippigiri Laxmi @ Bugamma (43 years), native of Narayanpet District, Telangana, presently residing in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  2. Sandipkaur Makkhan Singh (60 years), resident of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed that they had procured the Ganja from a supplier identified as Srinu of Visakhapatnam and were transporting it to Mumbai for further sale and distribution.

They also disclosed the involvement of two associates, Baby and Sampath, who are currently absconding.

21.251 Kg Ganja, Mobile Phones and Bags Seized

Police seized the following property from the accused:

  • 21.251 kilograms of Ganja packed in 19 packets
  • Three luggage bags used for transportation
  • Two mobile phones allegedly used in the commission of the offence

The seized Ganja is valued at several lakhs of rupees, according to police.

Case Registered Under NDPS Act

A case has been registered as Crime No. 210/2026 under:

  • Section 8(c)
  • Read with Section 20(b)(ii)(c)
  • Section 27A
  • Section 29 of the NDPS Act

The case has been handed over to Sri N. Rajender, Additional Inspector of Police, Saifabad, for further investigation.

The accused were arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Court.

Police said efforts are continuing to apprehend the remaining accused and identify the source and wider distribution network involved in the interstate drug trafficking operation.
