CSK entered the must-win game with a slim chance of qualifying for the play-offs but lost four wickets for 51 runs in the powerplay and never recovered.

Gill, Sudharsan and Buttler Power GT to 229/4
GT captain Shubman Gill scored 64 runs off 37 balls, while Sai Sudharsan smashed 84 runs off 53 balls.
The opening pair continued their remarkable consistency and registered their seventh century partnership in IPL history.
Gill and Sudharsan added 125 runs in 74 balls for the first wicket on a batting-friendly pitch.
Jos Buttler remained unbeaten on 57 runs off 27 balls and attacked CSK bowlers with multiple boundaries and sixes in the second half of the innings.

Gill reached his fifty in just 23 balls, while Sudharsan completed his half-century in 35 balls. It was Sudharsan’s fifth consecutive IPL half-century.

Mohammed Siraj and Rabada Destroy CSK Top Order
Mohammed Siraj struck early and took three wickets during the first six overs.
Siraj dismissed Sanju Samson off the very first ball of the CSK innings as the batter edged a wide delivery to Jos Buttler.
Kagiso Rabada supported Siraj brilliantly by dismissing Matthew Short with a delivery that moved back slightly.
GT’s bowling attack once again delivered a strong performance in the powerplay.
Shivam Dube Fights Lone Battle for CSK
Shivam Dube provided brief resistance with a six-hitting cameo of 47 runs off 17 balls, but CSK were eventually bowled out for 140.
Jos Buttler hit four sixes during his innings, including two against Noor Ahmad.
Sudharsan also hit a spectacular six over point off a wide low full toss from Anshul Kamboj in the penultimate over.
Gujarat Titans Close in on Top-Two Finish
Gujarat Titans completed the league stage with nine wins in 14 matches and reached 18 points.
Sunrisers Hyderabad can also reach 18 points if they defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who are already on 18 points, in their upcoming match.
The top two teams among the four play-off qualifiers will get two opportunities to reach the IPL final scheduled in Ahmedabad on May 31.
