St. Ann’s College Emerges Victorious in Osmania University Throwball Inter College Tournament for Women

Hyderabad: In a thrilling showcase of athleticism and skill, St. Ann’s College clinched the coveted title at the Osmania University Throwball Inter College Tournament for Women, held at University College, Koti, Hyderabad on the 21st and 22nd of February 2024.

The tournament, featuring intense knock-out matches, witnessed fierce competition among some of the city’s top women’s college teams.

In the first semi-final, St. Ann’s College, Mehdipatnam, displayed exceptional prowess, defeating Villa Marie College with a commanding scoreline of 15-08 and 15-05 in sets one and two respectively.

In the second semi-final clash, St. Francis College triumphed over Loyola College, securing their spot in the finals with convincing set scores of 15-07 and 15-06.

The final showdown between St. Ann’s College and St. Francis College kept spectators on the edge of their seats. In a closely contested battle, St. Ann’s College emerged victorious, clinching the title with set scores of 15-09 and 15-08.

Meanwhile, in the battle for third place, Villa Marie College showcased their resilience, defeating Loyola College with set scores of 15-10 and 15-09.

The awards ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Prof. Satyanaryana, Principal of Osmania University College of Physical Education. Dr. K. Saraswathamma, Special Officer of TMV, along with other dignitaries, added to the prestige of the occasion.

In a moment of celebration, Chief Guest Prof. Satyanaryana presented the winners’ trophy to St. Ann’s Degree College, Mehdipatnam, amidst cheers and applause, marking the culmination of an exciting tournament filled with exceptional displays of talent and sportsmanship.
