Bengaluru: In a display of sheer strength and determination, Tejavath Sukanya, hailing from Hyderabad and representing Telangana State, added another feather to her cap by clinching the Bronze Medal in the Women’s Category 76 Kgs at the 28th National Bench Press Championship held in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Sukanya, often referred to as the Golden Girl of Telangana, has not only carved her place as a champion within the state but has now etched her name on the national platform. Her exceptional performance in the championship is a testament to the saying, “Champions are not born, they are made.”
Expressing her excitement and gratitude, Sukanya acknowledged the crucial role played by her coach, Mr. V.N. Rajasekhar, Chief Coach at NCOE Patiala, Punjab. She credited him for being instrumental in her success, providing valuable guidance and support.
Additionally, she extended her heartfelt thanks to Mr. Y.V. Gopala Krishna Murthy, CMD of ACE Engineering College, who, beyond financial support, stood by her as a pillar of strength, emotionally supporting and motivating her throughout the journey.
Sukanya had earlier clinched the Gold Medal in the qualifying event of the National Power Lifting Championship, showcasing her prowess in the field. Buoyed by her recent success, she is now setting her sights on the upcoming World Championships scheduled to take place in the United States.
In the final results of the Women’s Category 76 Kgs, the podium featured:
- Vaishali (Karnataka) – Gold Medal, Weight Lift: 107 Kgs
- Shwetha (Karnataka) – Silver Medal, Weight Lift: 105 Kgs
The event served as a platform for athletes to exhibit their strength and determination, with Tejavath Sukanya emerging as a shining star in the powerlifting arena.
