Telangana: ACB nabs Mahabubnagar Municipality AE accepting Rs 50,000 bribe
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Assistant Engineer S Pruthvi of Mahabubnagar Municipality on Saturday while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Assistant Engineer S Pruthvi of Mahabubnagar Municipality on Saturday while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Pruthvi was caught red-handed by ACB when he demanded and received the bribe from Peetla Yadaiah, a municipal contractor from Palsabgutta, Mahabubnagar Town.
The bribe was solicited to perform an official favor, specifically to record M Books, process bills for two works executed by Yadaiah, and forward them to higher officials for sanctioning the total amount of Rs 11 lakhs owed to him, according to an ACB statement.
The tainted bribe amount was recovered from Pruthvi’s possession, and chemical tests on the fingers that came into contact with the bribe yielded positive results.
The AO performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. Therefore, Pruthvi was being arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court, Nampally, Hyderabad.
